What is Ian On

Ian On is a workspace where a team gets real work done with multiple AI agents. And your company runs it in-house.

The difference from an ordinary chatbot is simple. A chatbot gives you an answer and stops. Ian On takes a goal, plans the work, has agents with different roles carry it out, and hands back a finished result you can review — a report, a decision, a draft. And because every piece of work leaves a record, Ian On steadily learns how your company actually works.

Ian On is self-hosted, installed inside your company. Your documents and records are stored on your company's infrastructure. If you connect an external AI or speech-to-text service, the content needed for requests, document analysis, and meeting transcription is sent to that service.

Five things that matter

1. Work in one place — The left menu has Home, Collaboration, and Knowledge. Meetings appears once an owner or admin turns it on in Admin → Features. Your Conversations with Ian and agents, History, Mentions, and What's new open from the same menu. Owners and admins also get Admin.
2. You talk, it routes — On Home, open Talk to Ian and make your request. Questions are answered in the conversation, and work requests move on to a plan and then execution. When a step needs a decision, you are asked to approve it.
3. Memory that compounds — Ian On reads not just your documents but the relationships between them, and keeps a ledger of the decisions your team approved. That shared memory makes it fit your company better over time.
4. Permissions and an audit trail — Four roles (Owner, Admin, Manager, Member) plus per-item permissions decide who can see and run what. Key actions such as role changes, invitations, data access policies, and feature settings are recorded in Admin → Audit.
5. Runs on your terms — Install it on your own servers and connect local models or external AI. Manage personal connections in Settings → My AI Connections, and organization defaults under Organization AI Defaults in Admin → AI providers.
